1/31/2024 0 Comments Operation warp speedSo after Pfizer’s initial claim to the New York Times that it has never been part of Operation Warp Speed, CNN asked the company if there was any more nuance to the situation. Three experts told CNN that this purchase promise may have played an important role in expediting Pfizer’s vaccine development process. However, the Trump administration agreed in July to buy at least $1.95 billion worth of a Pfizer vaccine, at least 100 million doses, if Pfizer does get a vaccine authorized by the Food and Drug Administration. Pfizer, unlike these competitors, is not getting payments up front even before proving its effort has been successful. It’s true that Pfizer, unlike some other pharmaceutical companies, did not accept federal money for research into a coronavirus vaccine. ![]() Also, at least some independent experts say the Trump administration deserves partial credit for Pfizer’s progress. But it was not accurate for Pfizer to suggest that it is operating entirely apart from Operation Warp Speed the company has a major agreement to sell at least 100 million doses of its vaccine to the federal government, and Pfizer acknowledged in a Monday statement to CNN that it is in fact “participating” in Operation Warp Speed through this deal. The real story is more nuanced than both Pence’s tweet and Jansen’s comment made it sound.įacts First: Pfizer’s vaccine progress is certainly not solely attributable to the Trump administration’s Operation Warp Speed public-private partnership program. We have never taken any money from the U.S. Jansen was quoted Monday by The New York Times as saying, “We were never part of the Warp Speed. Others, however, pointed to the fact that Pfizer’s senior vice president and head of vaccine research and development, Kathrin Jansen, publicly distanced the company from the Trump administration’s Operation Warp Speed vaccine initiative. “HUGE NEWS: Thanks to the public-private partnership forged by President announced its Coronavirus Vaccine trial is EFFECTIVE, preventing infection in 90% of its volunteers,” Vice President Mike Pence tweeted. President Donald Trump’s administration was quick to applaud itself. ![]() It also kicked off a battle over who deserves credit for the preliminary good news. Pfizer sparked a stock market rally with its Monday announcement that early data shows its coronavirus vaccine is more than 90% effective.

I don't have any skills with computer graphic art, so I don't have any pretty maps or concept art to show, but I'll throw in some related imagery of the mentioned story/content to give some visuals to break up the text. I'll also provide some Wowpedia links for reference. I figured the Lore forum would be the best place to share my ideas, and this post mostly focuses around the overarching story and not so much game systems. I provided a LOT of background, so bear with me. Near the end of BfA's story, Azeroth's world-soul has been severely crippled between the damage inflicted by Sargeras' sword Gorribal and N'Zoth's consumption of her spirit energy to weaken/break his prison-bonds. Additionally, The Spire can be a highly contested area full of enemy players, so be sure to stock up on weapons and supplies before heading in and retrieving the Cult Artifact for Raz. Returning from the library of Karazhan, Khadgar greets the world's heroes and offers to provide a solution to heal the world-soul. Medivh explained to Azeroth's denizens that he had foreseen the true End Time of the universe (like Murozond had), and had been traversing the Twisting Nether and its connection to the infinite timeways, seeking a way to avert said crisis.Īccompanying Khadgar was his old mentor Medivh, who had returned from the Twisting Nether following his departure near the beginning of the Burning Legion's third invasion. On Khadgar's possession was the shard of the Vision of Time Gul'dan possessed from Draenor, which coincidentally was the same shard that had impaled Kairozdormu by the hands of Garrosh Hellscream. ![]() ![]() Kairozdormu's astral spirit was bound to this shard, and it allowed him to peer into the infinite timeways without a restriction of a corporeal form. Medivh had already been in communication with Kairoz when he came across his astral spirit in the Twisting Nether and learned of the bronze dragon's intentions of creating an infinite army to combat the Burning Legion. Although the Burning Crusade had finally ended with most of the Legion's leadership killed (save Sargeras who was guarded and imprisoned by Illidan and the Pantheon) and their means for unlimited and unrestricted regeneration/reconstitution/resurrection gone with Argus' death, the demons were still a threat if reorganized by someone stepping into the power vacuum left by Sargeras.Medivh saw merit in Kairoz's goals but thought the idea could be improved and expanded upon without harming the fabric of the prime timeline. ![]() Medivh felt that the mortals of Azeroth were at a disadvantage going up against the machinations of the Old Gods and their Void Lord masters, especially since they were able to see all possible futures and manipulate events at a cosmic scale to push the prime timeline towards a path that would spell the end of the universe as they knew it. 1/30/2024 0 Comments Best gravel bikes![]() But if you’re more interested in gravel races than mellow rides, the lighter carbon-framed Revolt Advanced 2 is a solid buy. The bikes share the same Shimano GRX 800/600 drivetrain and GRX 400 brakes, and we’ve found Cannondale’s aluminum builds are impressively comfortable (a common knock on aluminum is it’s too harsh). Why do we have the Giant Revolt Advanced 2 ranked below the Cannondale? Both are top-notch gravel bikes, but the simple answer is that we don't think the $450 bump in cost is worth it for most riders. Added up, you’d be hard-pressed to find a similarly equipped and well-made carbon design at this price point. Other thoughtful features include a rubber downtube protector to ward off high-speed rock impacts and a chainstay guard to help keep the chain quiet on bumpy rides. For $2,600, you get a light and compliant carbon frame, a smooth-shifting Shimano GRX 22-speed drivetrain, hydraulic disc brakes, and ample clearance for tires up to 45 millimeters wide for damping rough roads. Giant has built a reputation around producing high-quality bikes at affordable prices, and their Revolt Advanced 2 is a shining example. What we don’t: For some, the carbon frame may not be worth the price increase over the Topstone above. What we like: Lightweight carbon frame and Shimano GRX drivetrain at a reasonable price point. See the Cannondale Topstone 1 A Close Second (With a Carbon Frame) 2. ![]() It’s worth noting that Cannondale also offers the Topstone Carbon with a lighter frame and their minimalist Kingpin rear suspension that helps cushion harsh impacts. However, these are relatively small nitpicks about an otherwise impressive all-around gravel bike. And we’d like to see higher-quality rubber that’s tubeless-ready (they recently switched the tires to Vittoria from WTB’s Riddler, which leads us to believe it was a supply issue). ![]() At about 22.5 pounds, the Topstone certainly isn't the lightest gravel bike on the market and likely won't be the first choice of speed-focused riders (if this sounds like you, the extra $450 for the carbon Giant Revolt Advanced 2 below might be worth it). The aluminum frame doesn't come without compromises, however. From weekend gravel rides to daily commutes, the Cannondale Topstone is an excellent option. The cherry on top: the mid-range “1” manages to undercut much of the competition in price at a reasonable $2,150. Its balanced geometry also hits a nice sweet spot of responsiveness for climbs and road riding with a relaxed and confidence-inspiring feel on the descents. In terms of design, the Topstone features the kind of premium aluminum frame that the brand is known for, a gravel-specific Shimano GRX drivetrain complete with hydraulic disc brakes, and appropriately wide wheels for soaking up bumps. We’ll start by saying that we didn’t anticipate our top gravel bike pick being an aluminum-frame rig, but the Cannondale Topstone 1’s versatility, smart build, and competitive price tag won us over. What we don’t: A bit heavy for weight-conscious riders. What we like: Quality components and impressive versatility at a good price. For more background information, see our gravel bike comparison table and buying advice below the picks.īest Overall Gravel Bike 1. From leading budget options to range-topping carbon rigs, below are the top gravel grinders of 2021. While the definition of these dirt-focused models still is up for debate, they share a few key design features including a more upright seating position for added comfort over long distances, high-volume tires to help smooth out rough roads, and multiple mounting points for extra water and gear. In essence, they are more capable than road bikes yet more efficient than mountain bikes, transitioning nicely from daily commutes to weekend adventures. Gravel bikes-also known as adventure or all-road bikes-are built to handle terrain ranging from forest service roads to pavement, dirt, and even mellow singletrack. 1/30/2024 0 Comments Linux sync folders![]() Moreover, it is free, open-source and cross-platform. Quest for Infamy also does an excellent job of encouraging exploration and wandering the world. While Roehm’s voice actor is absolutely spot on, most other dialogs are difficult to understand and voiced by people who seem to be inside of a tin can, entrenched in an echo chamber, too far from their microphone, or some unfortunate combination of the all of them. Unfortunately, despite the console port being the perfect opportunity to fix the game’s atrocious voice acting, nothing appears changed. There’s also a narrator to push along the plot, who doles out excellent one-liners. By far, the story and dialogue in Quest for Infamy are its strongest aspects it’s witty, loaded with plenty of zingers, and gives the people in the village real liveliness. Main character Roehm is a delightful scamp who has landed in a backwater village, where intrigue, secrets, and even cults flourish alongside seasonal flooding, the convenient plot premise which keeps him in the area. However, this is one of those games that probably should have stayed where it was strongest.
